About the Artist 

My name is Sam Russo and I’m an art and communications student. I was born in North East New Jersey. I attended the TISCH School of the Arts at NYU during my first year of University. Although I love the diversity, culture, fashion, and art scene of NYC, I decided to come to Boulder to escape the TriState Area and find inspiration in a new part of the country. I enjoy Photography, and love to take pictures of people, especially my friends. I also enjoy playing around with oil paints and pastels. Some artists I find inspiring are Nan Goulding, Zadie Smith, Jill Freedman, and Patti Smith. Throughout my career here at CU I hope to become more well-rounded in other mediums. In my free time, I love to see live music, read, write, and go thrifting. I find inspiration in music, novels, and fashion, all things I'm passionate about. I also find a lot of my inspiration in my friends and love to be constantly surrounded by the people close to me. I love music, and my roommate has been teaching me to play guitar. I spend a lot of my free time searching for new artists and am constantly listening to new music. I also love fashion and upcycling clothes. I go to the thrift store to get second-hand clothes and fabrics to turn into something new. I hope to strengthen my abilities as an artist and find inspiration in the people around me’s work.
