Project 2 Artists Statement

For my project, I honestly was still determining where it would go. I started by taking inspiration from the music and bands I liked but realized that what I was going for would be difficult to achieve without using instruments. So, I decided to pick some sounds that I liked and start with those. I played around with them in effect and didn't listen to them much until I began to put the first 30 seconds together. From there, I naturally had a spooky, off putting sound. Being that it's close to Halloween, and I love scary movies and things like that, I decided to roll with this. From there I decided to look for more sounds in the file that depicted this scary feeling and added them to the track.  I used a ton of effects and adjusted the pitch, as well as margin sounds together fading them in and out as best as possible. I tried to make it feel like a story, the soundtrack to short films, or a clip to a movie. I tried to make the beginning part build up to a more hectic middle, and then the end sort of like the calm after the storm. Audition was a bit difficult to work with, but overall I think I got the hang of it. Still, there is definitely a ton more I can learn to use with it, and can tell I have only scratched the surface.
